Aim

The cornerstone of Hope Builders lies in our unwavering aim: to bridge the gap in tertiary education access for underprivileged youths around the world. Our goal extends beyond merely facilitating academic achievement; we strive to cultivate a supportive ecosystem that nurtures the whole individual—encouraging personal growth, resilience, and leadership skills.

Opportunities

We open doors to a realm of opportunities that many underprivileged youths never dared to dream possible. Some of our opportunities include:

•             Scholarship programs

•             Financial assistance

•             Tuition

•             Living expenses

•             Mentorship

•             Career Development

Representation

We champion the power of representation, recognizing its vital role in inspiring and empowering the next generation. Our aim includes:

•             Commitment to diversity and inclusion

•             Representing diverse cultures, backgrounds, and perspectives

•             Provide role models resonating with students' experiences

•             Foster environment where every voice is heard and valued

BRIEF OVERVIEW

As a Society, Hope Builders is dedicated to improving the lives of underprivileged children and families in Singapore through education, empowerment, and community support. Our mission is to create lasting, positive change in our community.

The objects of the organization are:

a) Advance the Study of Hope: To further advance the study of the value of hope among individuals and understand how it can positively impact their way of living.

b) Empower and Support Vulnerable Groups: To empower and support the underprivileged, including children, marginalized youth, women, and elderly people without support, throughout Singapore.

c) Community Transformation: To transform communities by providing help and support to children, youth, and their families who are in need, fostering overall community development and well-being.

Guidelines for Membership

  1. Membership is open to all, with no age or gender restrictions. However, individuals under 18 require written consent from a parent or guardian. Only members aged 21 and older have voting rights and can hold office in the Society.

  1. Entrance Fee: There is no entrance fee payable for individuals’ becoming members of the Society. This means membership is accessible to all without any initial financial requirement.

Sources of Funds

The Society's funds are derived from:

  • Free-will Offerings: These include donations of money, property, or any interest therein, as well as any other valuable items. These offerings can be made through gifts, devises (wills), or bequests (inheritances).

  • Ownership and Leasing: The Society has the authority to own or lease both real (land, buildings) and personal (equipment, vehicles) property. This provides flexibility in managing assets needed to support its activities.

  • Special Funds If additional funds beyond regular donations are required for specific purposes (such as a special project or event), the Society can only raise these funds from its members with the explicit consent of a general meeting of the members. This ensures transparency and democratic decision-making among the membership regarding financial matters.

These provisions underscore the Society's reliance on voluntary contributions for its operations and development while ensuring that any special financial needs are met with the approval and support of its members as a collective body.
